Warren G. Harding was born in 1865 in Corsica, Ohio. After serving one term in the Senate he ran for presidency and won in 1920. He was won presidency because he was very charming and good manner, he also promised the U.S citizen to get the United States back on its feet after World War 1. His positive and easygoing atmosphere replaced the prior president Mr.Wilson who did not contribute to the U.S as much and was very quiet. President Warren might of seemed like the perfect man to help the U.S recover from World War 1 and get the nation back on its feet.
President Warren had a side that many citizens did not know of until later in his presidency. Mr. Warren was started to make some serious mistakes as a president. He gave Cabinet posts and high-level jobs to his allies from Ohio and many of them were not educated in the political field they were assigned. Most of the presidents allies were his childhood friends, including Harry M. Daugherty as his campaign manger and Daniel Crissinger, the chairmen of the Federal Reserve Board. Harding felt comfortable with his allies along his side and loved to drink, smoke and play poker with the " Ohio gang. The "Ohio gang" did not only drink and play poker, but they also took advantage their positions and sold government jobs , pardons and protection from prosecutions. One of the biggest scandals was when Forbes sold scare medical supplies that were left over from War World 1 and cost taxpayers 250 million dollars. Shortly after Forbes scandal, president Warren passed away while on vacation. The biggest scandal was "The Teapot Dome" where Mr. Warren's Secretary of the interior, Albert B. Fall, allowed private interest to lease U.S land containing Naval oil reserves.
