Many of you think that World War II doesn't effect us today but it does. After World War II the United States gained a new position as a global superpower. This means that United States came out of the war with less casualties compared to other Allies. We also gained this position with the fact we possessed atomic bombs.
At the end of the New Deal and World War II the Americans become more conservative. The political and economical problems in the United States shifted to the right. Three main issues troubled Americans during the war and immediately after. The government was becoming too big, the economy was controlled too much by the government and that Communism was infiltrating the USA. As African Americans moved into crowded industrial cities, racial tensions grew outside of the South. Blacks made some progress in the military and the workforce, and many cities formed committees to improve race relations. Mexican Americans faced discrimination in Southern California. Japanese Americans faced discrimination during the war, especially in the relocation camps, and struggled to rebuild their lives after the war.
